Product Care & Timber Characteristics

While our buildings are pressure-treated against rot and fungal decay, timber remains a natural, porous material. To ensure longevity, please note the following:

  • Weatherproofing:Pressure treatment does not prevent water ingress. You must apply three coats of a high-quality waterproofer (such as the hydrophobic Stable Coat we stock) to all exposed surfaces.
  • Application: Apply sealant to all corners and joints using exterior mastic before fixing finishing trims or working around windows.
  • Natural Variation: Timber may warp, shrink, swell, or develop knot holes. While we use high-quality redwood, we cannot guarantee against these natural movements.
  • Board Alignment: Due to natural shrinkage (even 2mm per board), we cannot guarantee perfect alignment of cladding boards when walls are joined.
  • Roofing: Buildings include roofing felt. However, you must provide your own felt tacks and lap adhesive for installation.

Product Care & Timber Characteristics

To ensure a smooth delivery, please adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Access:Delivery is made to the closest point our vehicle can safely reach, at the driver’s discretion.
  • Unloading: Items will be unloaded within 3 metres of the vehicle. It is the customer's responsibility to provide a suitable unloading space.
  • Handling: Customers are responsible for moving the building components from the 3-metre drop-off point to the final assembly site.
